Travel

I love to travel!  Anywhere (except Iowa or Kansas and a few other midwest states–and I can say that because I am from the midwest.)  Anytime (especially if someone else is paying.)  I especially love staying in little hole-in-wall hostels (they’re cheap) and camping (even cheaper.)

There is no better way to remove oneself from the egocentric little world we create than to travel, explore other cultures, and live with the locals.

In my short life, I have been blessed to have traveled to:

  • Thailand, Cambodia, & 5 minutes in Burma (2016)
  • Guatemala (2015)
  • India (2013)
  • Nicaragua (2012)
  • Dominican Repbulic (2010)
  • Peru (2009)
  • Canada (2014, 2008, 1994)
  • China (2007)
  • Italy (2006)
  • Australia & New Zealand (2005)
  • Costa Rica (2004)
  • Belize (2003)
  • Spain (2002)
  • Germany (2001, 1994)
  • England (2000, 1994)
  • France (1999, 1994)
  • Mexico (2011, 1999, 1995)
  • Aruba (1998)
  • Austria (1994)
  • Czechoslovakia-when it was really Czechoslovakia (1990)

Lucky for me, my husband was a MK (missionary kid) who grew up in Zaire, currently known as the Democratic Republic of Congo, though there is nothing democratic or republic about its government.  Anyway, he grew up overseas traveling extensively, and making travel a priority in our lives is one of the few things he and I are both passionate about.
